Commissioned by CARE India, this project documents maternal and child healthcare in government hospitals and rural communities across Bihar. It explores the efforts of healthcare workers, nurses, midwives and families working together to improve the health and wellbeing of mothers and newborns.

The photographs capture moments of care, resilience and hope, highlighting both the challenges of providing healthcare in resource-limited settings and the dedication of those striving to ensure a healthy start in life for every child.

Through these stories, the project offers an intimate look at the vital role of public healthcare in transforming lives across rural India.
