To experience Myanmar beyond its famous landmarks, I travelled nearly 3,000 kilometres across the country in a simple labour-class vehicle—the same kind used by local people every day. Slow, unpredictable and often uncomfortable, the journey offered a rare opportunity to discover the country from the road.

Travelling through remote villages, bustling towns and breathtaking landscapes, I documented everyday life and the people I met along the way. Rather than focusing on destinations, this project tells the story of Myanmar through its farmers, monks, fishermen, street vendors and families.

Burma by Road is a journey about connection, curiosity and discovering a country through the lives of its people, one road at a time.
